Thank you for visiting Chat Noir Photographie today. The images presented here are as eclectic as the subjects which inspire them. My body of work over the past 6 years has focused largely on memorial statuary, architecture, and landscapes although recent years have allowed me the opportunity to pursue a variety of projects including fine art, nature, commercial, and fashion photography. As time goes by, my portfolio continues to diversify but somehow I always end up back in the quiet peace of the greaveyard.
My first love has taken me to over thirty-five cemeteries across 4 continents where I've endeavored to capture some of the rich history, artistry, and bittersweet expressions contained within. The uniquely beautiful statuary and sculptural pieces, tender, scrolling words, haunting ceramic portraiture, and signature architecture are all elements which tell the intimate tales of the community who built. In honoring the departed it is possible to gain a better understanding of our common humanity as well as the destiny we will all one day share.To quote Mark Twain: "Death, the only immortal who treats us all alike, whose peace and whose refuge are for us all. The soiled and the pure, the rich and the poor, the loved and the unloved."
